Donors Honor Former President, Steve Wilhelm

One of the true mainmasts of the Northwest Dharma Association, Steve Wilhelm, stepped down as president of the board of directors in June. In his honor, current and former board members have donated over $1,275.00 to date.

Steve joined the NWDA board of directors in 1995 and served until 1998. He was re-elected in 2002 serving as Vice President from 2003 to 2005 and President from 2005 to 2007.

Known for his generosity of spirit, calm demeanor, and nautical metaphors, Steve has piloted the Northwest Dharma galleon through waters both stormy and pacific, always keeping his glass focused on the port ahead. “Life is short,” he has written, “The possibility of awakening and benefiting others seems really the only game in town.”

Steve looks forward to having more time for family and Dharma practice. In mid-November he begins a month-long retreat. He remains on deck in active service for NWDA as an able-bodied board member until the end of his term in June ’08.

Readers who wish to honor Steve with a contribution to the Northwest Dharma Association are welcome to do so by visiting our website, www.northwestdharma.org.
