When we gather we meditate, chant, pray, and study how to practice Christianity and Buddhism in a supportive setting. Sensing a complementary relationship between the two religions' contemplative and wisdom traditions, our explorations are informed by both.
Lotus and Lily is a self-organizing group of practitioners that is independent of any specific church or religious affiliation; our approach to both Buddhism and Christianity is ecumenical and without sectarian alliances.
Our members have varying degrees of knowledge and experience with religions and spiritual practice. In many cases we continue to maintain a spiritual practice and/or involvement in another religious community (e.g., a Buddhist sangha or Christian church). But we are glad for the unique and important mutual support and communal spiritual practice that Lotus and Lily provides us.
