Maitripa College

Maitripa College in Portland, Oregon, is the Northwest's first Buddhist college. Rooted in a lineage of Tibetan Buddhist practice from its founder and president, Yangsi Rinpoche, the college is officially non-sectarian and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. Maitripa's vision is to become a fully-accredited Buddhist university offering undergraduate and graduate education that transforms individuals and our shared world.

Maitripa currently offers two degree programs - an M.A. in Buddhist Studies & a Master of Divinity - and a continuing education program for non-degree students onsite in Portland and for online students around the world. The college also offers academic symposiums, lectures & workshops with visiting scholars and teachers, retreats, public dharma teachings, community meditation and the observance of traditional Tibetan Buddhist practices.
